What is WordPress?

WordPress is what they call a content management system (CMS).
You may imagine of it as being something like an operating system for your website.
And just like an operating system, it comes with themes and plugins that are easily downloaded from the official WordPress site or from many of other websites.

Is it simple to use WP?
Yes, without writing a single line of code, it’s simple to create a professional-looking website. Basically, drag and drop elements. After that typing wordings and upload images.
How to login to WP?

- Request a username and password from the developer website.
- Enter your domain name in your browser’s address bar, followed by /wp-admin for example, yourdomain.com/wp-admin.

Once you see this page, Congratulations! You have login to the backend of WP.
Posts or Pages?

WordPress is based on two fundamental ideas. Pages and posts are two different types of content. The most common type of post is a blog entry. A collection of articles arranged (typically) in reverse chronological order.
Pages are used for content that is more static (i.e., content that does not change regularly). A standard website’s ‘About us’ page is an example of a Page. In most cases, the text on the ‘About us’ page does not change very often.”
“But I don’t need a blog,” you might be thinking. This may be true, but if you have a website where you need to display your ‘latest news’ or even just company updates, you can use the blog concept.
The ‘blog’ functionality can be used to benefit any information that is updated on a semi-regular basis. Whether it’s a standard blog, your company’s ‘latest news,’ or even simply your own personal updates, there’s something for everyone.
